This time of year can be stressful for those in school and those who are around those in school! Between Spring fever and testing and finals it can be overwhelming! There are a few things you can do to help and ease this time of stress.
TIPS FOR SURVIVING END OF SCHOOL FUN, FINALS AND TESTING
1. Get a good nights sleep! We all know this but it isn’t always so easy to do. Try to go to bed or put your kids to bed at about the same time every night. If they or you are having trouble getting to sleep because of stress or whatever the reason, try diffusing lavender, german chamomile, rutavala, or cedarwood at bedtime. You can also apply any of these to the bottom of your feet.
2. EAT BREAKFAST! Again, we all know this but it is routinely skipped. Your brain needs sugar to function. Now I am not advocating eating highly processed sugary cereals or other types of processed breakfast foods but your brain needs to be fed to function at its optimal. Have some fruit with some meat and cheese like the Italians do, or oatmeal with fruit, a protein drink, a high powered breakfast smoothie with greens in it. I like to add my Ningxia in the mornings along with my breakfast. Its a wonderful nutritional drink full of good things.
3. Peppermint when studying and before testing! Diffuse Peppermint when studying to help with focus and to stay alert. Peppermint is naturally stimulating to the conscious mind. In addition to helping when studying, if you inhale during mental task it will also help with attention, focus and performance. A couple of drops on your palm, rub hands together and breathe in during testing to help with focus and performance. I have had many a college student share this tip with me!
4. Apply a little Lavender, StressAway or Clarity. If you or your child are especially stressed about a test or a day of testing, put a little lavender, stress away or clarity on the back of the neck, on the forehead, on the palms of the hands, bottom of the feet or in a little hankie that can be sniffed as needed.
5. Affirm. If you are the student, state affirmations about your knowledge. Or as Tony Robbins says, state an incantation! The bible says, “Speak it and it shall be so” “Have faith the size of a mustard seed”, many successful people say the same thing in a different way and it is definitely a law of the universe. Do the work and then believe in yourself. Say, “The knowledge I have about……flows out of me accurately and timely, my needs, goals and desires are met instantaneously by infinite intelligence, where I am one with God and God is everything!” (I stole part of this from Tony Robbins! Thanks Tony). If your children are testing, state affirmations over them. You are a good student. You have studied hard and your preparedness will shine brightly today!
GOOD LUCK. Happy Testing and Happy Spring!!!!
